Welcome! This page has been created for private citizens who are concerned about this nation’s energy policies. The Minerals Management Service, the federal agency responsible for administering the offshore oil and natural gas program, is seeking your comments about expanding offshore oil and gas development for the years 2010-2015. The comment period has ended but feel free to send a letter and we'll deliver it during the next comment period. Please visitwww.partnershipforenergy.com for the most recent Congressional actions related to energy policy.
You are being asked to go on record in support of expanding the ongoing search for oil and natural gas to the 85% (574 million acres) of the Outer Continental Shelf that is currently off-limits to exploration and production. These currently restricted areas are thought to hold an estimated 18 billion barrels of oil and 77 trillion cubic feet of natural gas according to government estimates. For more detailed information on the need for greater access to areas that are currently off limits due to government moratoria click here.
To send a letter to the MMS for submission during the next comment period enter your contact information below and then click the “take action” button to get to the draft letter prepared for your consideration and edits.
